FILLING OF COUNCILLOR VACANCIES ON STRATEGIC POLICY COMMITTEES

a)  Councillor Vacancy On Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries Strategic Policy Committee  (Councillor S. Crowe)

REPLY:

The following report was presented to the Members at the Organisation, Procedure & Finance Committee Meeting held on 24th March 2011:

"A vacancy exists on the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries SPC following Councillor S. Crowe's election to Dáil Eireann and consequent disqualification from this committee.  Councillor Ms Máire Devine has been co-opted to replace Sean Crowe and it is now before the members to recommend approval to the nomination of Ms Devine to the ACGE&L Strategic Policy Committee."  End of Report to OP&F.

It was proposed by Councillor C. King, seconded by Councillor M. McDonagh and RESOLVED:

“That Councillor M. Devine be nominated to fill the vacancy on the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries Strategic Policy Committee.”

This matter is now before the Council for approval.
