QUESTION NO. 2

QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to contact the owners of the seemingly-abandoned building site on Corrig Close, Greenpark, Dublin 12 and demand a clean up of the site along with better security measures given the potential for antisocial behaviour?"

REPLY:

The Area Engineer carried out an inspection of this site, and it was found to be in a  derelict condition, under Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner outlining the following works to be completed in order to render the site non derelict.

·        Remove temporary  fencing

·        Complete boundary wall and fit gates

·        Spray weeds and remove overgrowth

·        Remove building material (front and back) and level site

·        Secure buildings

This site will be re-inspected on expiry of the Section 11 Notice and if the works have not been completed satisfactorily this case will be referred to the Councils Law Department, where legal proceedings will be initiated.
