MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

That the Manager report to this Committee regarding the neglected open space on the left hand side of the Mayberry Road, from the Maxol Service Station towards the Belgard Road, if it is in private or Council ownership and if any effort has been made to landscape the area, in consideration to the local residents who keep the rest of Mayberry Road in excellent condition.

REPORT:

The area of land in question is in private ownership.  An inspection of the site was carried out by the Area Engineer, under the Derelict Sites Act, 1990, and was found to be in a non derelict condition.  However, a letter was issued to the registered owner of the site requesting them to remove the rubbish on the site and cut back overgrowth, especially during the summer months, in order to prevent the site from becoming derelict in the future.  This site will be monitored by the Council.
