MOTION NO. 8

MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

That this Committee requests the Manager to make a report regarding the sale of Bishops Field in Tymon North to the HSE. Is the sale completed, has the Council received any monies from the HSE regarding this sale and if not, has the site now returned to Council ownership and will the Council make the site accessable to Community Groups for the provision of Community services, as was the original purpose of the site.

REPORT:

The Council at its meeting held on 8th December 2008 approved of the disposal of a site at Tymon North ,Tallaght to the HSE for the provision of a primary care facilty/community nursing unit, Minute No.(C/0956/08)refers. In June 2009 the Property Manager of the HSE informed the Council that due to cuts in its budget, the HSE was withdrawing from the agreement to purchase this site. The site remains in Council ownership and in the Council's maintenance programme.

The lands in question are zoned Objective A in the County Development Plan 2010 to 2016 i.e. "To protect and/or improve residential amenity with a Specific Local Objective (SLO 55) "To advance the provision of a retirement village with a six year objective "on these lands.
