MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

QUESTION NO. 17

QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

To ask the Manager when will I get an update on my recent motion That the site (address supplied) (recently granted planning permission for one residence) be examined with a view to declaring it a derelict site; that the owners be contacted and compelled to erect a secure fence to the rear where it meets the laneway to the rear of Culmore Road and, since the closure of the opening with Glenaulin Park at this location, is now being used as the route for undesirable persons passing between the Californian Hills on the City Council side and the laneway on South Dublin County side, and that a report be brought as soon as possible to this Committee on the situation and the results of the action taken?

REPLY:

The Area Engineer has been instructed to inspect this site under the Derelict Sites Act 1990.  If the site is deemed to be in a derelict condition, a Section 11 Notice will be served on the registered owner outlining works to be completed in order to render the site non derelict. The matter has also been referred to the Parks Department for examination.
