QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to provide details on any binding pre-2010 Part V agreements entered into with private developers for social and affordable housing units not yet acquired, including details of the location of the development, number and types of units to be acquired and agreed costs per unit?

REPLY:   Legal agreements are in place under Part V arrangements for the provision of social and affordable housing units, not yet acquired, as follows:

Saggart Lodge, Saggart Village 4 x 2 bed houses and  2 x 3 bed houses Dec-07 €1.25m Development substantially complete. Developer in receivership.
New Bancroft, Tallaght  6 x 1 bed apartments and 13 x 2 bed apartments   Jun-08 €3.8m Development incomplete and works stalled
St Edmunds, Liffey Valley  11 x 1 bed apartments and 46 x 2 bed apartments     Mar - 08  €13m No works commenced
Stocking Lane, Rathfarnham 20 x 2 bed apartments Dec-07 €4.6m No works commenced
Newcastle Lyons, Newcastle  15 x 2 bed apartments  Jul- 07  €3.18m No works commenced
Airpark, Stocking Lane 7 x 2 bed apartments Aug-08 €1.58m Development complete. Acquisition at an advaced stage.

The Council continues to engage with the respective developers and their agents using all available options in efforts to renegotiate previously agreed terms where possible. The named developments continue to be monitored for progress in tandem with the life of the relevant planning permissions.
