QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff
"To ask the Manager the status of the plans for the redevelopment of the site of the former corner shop on Rossfield Avenue and as to what measures can be undertaken to clean up the site and if he will make a statement on the matter?"
REPLY:
The title to the former shop premises at Rossfield Avenue has yet to be regularised. The lease of the premises is held by the parties who operated the shop initially and who have been re-located to a shop premises at 17, Brookfield Court. Terms for the lease of the shop at Brookfield Court have been issued to the occupants which includes the formal surrender of the lease of the premises at 2 Rossfield Avenue. However the occupants have not yet agreed terms and the matter is being pursued with them.
The Council's Housing Department has prepared a proposal to redevelop this area subject to availability of funding and the title issues being resolved.
The Litter Warden has been requested to inspect the premises with the view to requesting the leaseholders to clean up the property if necessary.
