Derelict sites on Main Street, Rathcoole

REPORT:

The site below the Poitin Stil, opposite Kilteel Road, Rathcoole was inspected by the Area Engineer and is considered to be a derelict site within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner, requesting the following works to be completed:

The site of the former Keogh's shop, corner of Stoney Lane, Rathcoole was inspected by the Area Engineer and is considered to be a derelict site within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.   A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner, requesting the following works to be completed:

The house adjoining the former Keogh's shop, was also inspected by the Area Engineer and is considered to be a derelict site within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner, requesting the following works to be completed:

Glebe House, Rathcoole, is a protected structure and a Section 79 Endangerment Notice (Part IV Planning and Development Act 2000) was served on the owners dated 18th August, 2010.  The owners were given the specified time under the Act to carry out the necessary work required to safeguard the structure i.e. reinstatement of the roof.   Under the Notice works were to be carried out before the 10th November, 2010.  The Conservation Officer carried out a further site inspection on the 3rd February, 2011 and has confirmed that the works specified under the S59 Notice had not been carried out.  Enforcement action has been initiated by the Planning Department.  The Dangerous Buildings Section has also issued a Notice under the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1964, requiring:

The site of the two storey house to the west of the school at Main Street, Rathcoole was inspected by the Area Engineer on the 15th February, 2011 and is considered to be a derelict site within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner, requesting the following works to be completed:

The site of Rathcoole House and grounds, Main Street, Rathcoole was inspected by the Area Engineer and is considered to be a derelict site within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner, requesting the following works to be completed:

On expiry of Section 11 Notices, the sites will be re-inspected and if all the works outlined in the Notices have not been completed satisfactorily, these cases will be referred to the Council’s Law Department and legal proceedings will be initiated.
