MOTION NO. 19
MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge
That the Manager present a report on new works, if any for Corkagh Park, Clondalkin.
REPORT:
It is proposed that the following new works will be undertaken in Corkagh Park in 2011, subject to the availability of the necessary finance;
- The commencement of the construction of the Cycle Race Track ( subject to completion of outstanding legal requirements).
- The refurbishment of Fishery Coffee Shop and outside deck area to provide improved facilities for the public.
- The installation of a new toilet block at the Children's Playground.
- Refurbishment of reception building and other facilities at Camac Valley Caravan Park.
- Further improvements to the Pet Farm incl. additional fencing and upgrading of toilet facilities.
- Development of an Outdoor Adventure and Activity Centre.
- Upgrading and replacement of Visitor Train.
- Provision of demountable public barbecue facilities.
- Installation of an all-weather wicket/crease at the Cricket Grounds.
- The planting of new trees and new pedestrian entrance at the main car-park St. John's Road.
In addition to the above and also subject to finance being available, it is proposed to run the Halloween 'Spooky Walk' and Christmas Wonderland events in the park, both of which were very successful last year.
