Securing and Clean Up of St. Brigid's Cottages, Clondalkin

REPORT:

The property and site at 1 St Brigid's Cottages, Naas Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 was inspected by the Area Engineer on the 10th of January, 2011 and is considered to be a derelict site within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  A Section 11 Notice has been issued to the registered owner requesting the following works to be completed in order to render the site non derelict:

·         Secure building

·         Replace hoarding and paint

·         Remove rubbish

On expiry of this notice, the site will be re-inspected and if the works outlined in the Notice have not been completed satisfactorily legal proceedings may be initiated against the  registered owners. 

This property was also referred to the Dangerous Structures Section of the Architectural Services Department who carried out an inspection and have sent a letter to the registered owners asking them to carry out the following works:

·         Secure all openings at 1 & 3 St Bridgid's Cottages

·         Reinstate all loose roof tiles on both properties

·         Remove the damaged/defective hoarding and railings from the boundary wall of 1 St Bridgid's Cottages and secure the boundary as necessary.

Following an inspection it was found that none of these works have been carried out and a Notice was served under the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, requiring that the works be carried out before 24th February 2011.
