1. Minutes of previous meeting held on  17th November 2010

2. Matters Arising  - None

3. Leisure Centre Facilities presentation – presented by James Morrissey A/Area Community Officer.  A detailed presentation of Tallaght, Clondalkin and Lucan Leisure Centres was presented to the  members, the vast amount of activities available in each centre was highlighted. A discussion ensued regarding different aspects of facilities to which Cllrs. King and Ridge and S. Reid and C. Johnson contributed.  J. Morrissey responded to questions and the presentation was noted.

4. Community Facility Presentation – Donal Walsh Senior Community Officer outlined the huge range of Community Facilities in the South Dublin Area.  S. Reid acknowledged the constant support from this Council and highlighted the need for this support to continue.  A  discussion ensued  regarding aspects of Licences and  Leases issues to which  Cllrs  King and Ridge  and C. Johnston contributed -  Report on Licences  and  Leases to be placed on next SPC  agenda .

5. Dublin Mountain Way Presentation - Neil O’Byrne highlighted different aspects of the very valuable resource of Dublin Mountains – Neil  responded to questions. An Cathaoirleach Cllr. King thanked Neil for the very informative presentation and the report was noted.

6. St Patrick’s Day Celebrations – Tallaght. W. Sheils presented a report on activities being arranged for this year’s St. Patrick’s day Celebrations to be hosted in Tallaght Stadium. A copy of the report will be circulated to all members of this SPC.

7. AOB – Billy Coman briefed the members on the Council’s intention and focus of the CDB to take the initiative in exploring opportunities for developing business and employment creation in South Dublin County, utilising the inter-agency approach and developing actions to progress an interagency approach, Security, Creative Village Concept. He referred to the Quality of Life agenda, work with the IDA, focus on Rate Base analysis, Costs reduction and energy efficiency, Social media and other cost reduction initiatives, Smart Travel and new initiatives such as TUS, Government Placement Scheme, Redundant Apprentice Scheme.He suggested to the SPC that a Business Sub Committee be set up consisting of both elected members and external members of this SPC, including the Chair Cllr King. Agreed that C. Johnston, S. Reid.  James Coghlan also to be invited to join this committee and one further elected member to be decided at next meeting. This was agreed.
