QUESTION NO. 5

QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney

To ask the Manager to write to all election candidates (and political parties) in this general election to remove all cable ties when removing posters etc. in a goodwill gesture to the community in the Clondalkin Electoral Area?  It could be emphasised that removal of all ties including those left behind by others from previous elections should also be removed which would be a welcome kick start to the upcoming Spring Clean Up.

REPLY:

Section 19 (7) of the Litter Pollution Act 1997 requires that election posters be taken down within 7 days of an election.

If the question is approved the matter will be referred to all election candidates (and political parties) for their attention and when replies are received the Committee will be notified accordingly.
