QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn
"To ask the Manager for an update on the proposed traffic calming on the Knocklyon Road as outlined at the Road Traffic Meeting of 20 January 2011?"
REPLY:
A number of speed limit repeater signs have been provided on this road.
An application has been made to the NRA under Low Cost Safety Measures to provide for the installation of a platform ramp, a bus ramp, pedestrian barriers and warning signing and lining. A decision is expected from the NRA shortly.
The Gardai confirmed that they have deployed resources to the area in an attempt to detect speeding offenders and deter others from engaging in such activity.
