QUESTION NO. 15
QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
To ask the Manager why the Litter Bins in Palmerstown were not emptied during the recent bad weather and why it took so long after the snow and frost cleared before they were emptied?
REPLY:
During the two recent periods of adverse weather and road conditions, the trucks for crews to empty litter bins were not on the road because of health and safety considerations and staff were reassigned to snow clearance and gritting duties. The Cleansing Section reports that all backlogs in respect of emptying litter bins were quickly cleared upon resumption of normal working rosters.
