QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to provide an update on the site of the former Burmah Garage, Wellington Lane, and to make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

This site was inspected by the Area Engineer in June, 2010 and was deemed to be derelict.  A Notice under Section 11 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990, was issued to the registered owners outlining the following works to be carried out:

·        Demolish and remove superstructure

·        Ensure site is secure

·        Remove rubbish

·        Removal of side stub wall to prevent access and replace hoarding

The site was re-inspected in September, following the expiry of the Notice and the works outlined in the Notice had been completed satisfactorily, and the site was therefore rendered non derelict.
