QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager, to provide an update on proposals to respond to the serious problems of anti-social behaviour at the old road embankment between Moy Glas and Castle Riada as discussed at the meeting in December with Moy Glas residents, Gardaí and the elected members?

REPLY:

Following the meeting in the Sports and Leisure Centre in December 2010, an on site meeting took place to discuss the boundary wall which is contributing to the congregation of people and subsequent anti-social problems.  The removal of a 52 meter section of wall opposite the cul de sac at Moy Glas Close is currently being scheduled for inclusion in the works programme for the area.  Prior to the removal of the wall contact will be made with the adjacent residents to advise them of the proposed works.
