QUESTION NO.6
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
"To ask the Manager to report on the preparation of the Master Plan for Beechfield Park, and to confirm the role of local elected representatives, residents' groups and sporting organisations who use the park in preparing this plan?"
REPLY:
It was agreed with the local Residents Association in 2010 that a Masterplan for Beechfield Park would be prepared to guide the development of the park in the next five to ten year period. Due to staff movements it was not possible to commence work on the Masterplan. In October 2010 a meeting was held with the Residents Association to progress the plan and it was agreed that the Association and other groups would be consulted during the course of preparation of the plan. The Association has been forwarded maps of the area to allow it to prepare some suggestions and make comments for a further meeting. It is intended to revert to the Association in early February 2011 or as soon as the Association has generated some ideas for discussion.
Following agreement in principle with the Residents Association on the outline of a long term plan the proposals will be discussed with the wider community including sporting organizations to ensure the widest possible support and following this they will then in turn be presented to the Elected Members at the Tallaght Area Committee.
