QUESTION: Councillor C. Jones

To ask the Manager for an update on the expected delivery of a road that will service the southern backland development at Dodsboro cottages?

REPLY:

The Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme made provision for road access to accommodate potential future development of backland sites at Dodsboro cottages via the SDZ lands. Development was permitted (SDZ08A/0004) in the section of Adamstown SDZ to the south of the rear gardens of Dodsboro cottages which allowed for the provision of vehicular entrances from the rear of said properties at Dodsboro. To date this planning permission has not been implemented and given the current level of housebuilding activity it is uncertain whether the road will be constructed as part of the permission in the immediate future.  It is therefore possible that any future development in the rear sites of Dodsboro cottages may continue to rely on temporary access arrangements in the medium term.
