MOTION NO. 2

MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge

That the pruning of trees agreed with the Park's Department some time ago at Alpine Heights (requested by "address supplied") take place immediately as agreed some time ago.

REPORT:

The Park's Department have being managing the planting on this small open space and periodically undertake maintenance as the need arises.  Currently there are 6 heavy standard trees, 6 semi mature trees and one coppiced stump growing there.  In recent years a number of trees close to the boundary wall of the house have been removed.

Following a recent conversation with the resident concerned, it is proposed to remove a further three trees.  While it is hoped to undertake these works during the current pruning season, it should be noted that the bad weather in December and the Christmas Tree recycling programme have impacted on the time available for pruning works. In the event that this is not possible to carry out the works in the current season, the works will be listed for the 2011/12 Arboricultural Programme.
