QUESTION: Councillor R. Dowds

To ask the Manager to give a report on the progress of Balgaddy Park including safety, seating and lighting?

REPLY:

Work at Balgaddy Park is currently in progress.  Concrete bases, rubble, rubbish and other extraneous material have been removed.  Top soil has been spread onto the site and the land graded and cultivated.  Lighting internally to the park was not included as part of the Part 8 proposals.  However ducting has been provided for possible future provision of lights.  As part of the park works CCTV will be provided and the ducting for this has already been installed. 

The MUGA tender stage is underway and the tender for the playground with associated seating will be completed shortly.  Trees will be planted before the end of the planting season and the footpaths and boundary treatments are currently being installed on site.
