MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager review the safety of motorists leaving Ballyroan Lodge area accessing Ballyboden Road, which is blind to the motorist entering onto a busy main road taking into account.

1. For safety reasons an exit is made at the Hillside Park end of Ballyroan Lodge.
2. A one-way system be created i.e. Entering from Ballyboden Road and exiting at Ballyroan Lodge.

REPORT:

1.  The open space between Hillside Park houses and Ballyboden Road is in the charge of South Dublin County Council and is maintained by the Parks Department.

2.  The pathways immediately behind the Hillside Park houses and the access from Ballyboden Road are currently being investigated by the Development Department to determine ownership and rights of way.

A report will be presented to the Committee when these issues have been clarified.
