QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor P. Kearns

To ask the Manager what measures have been taken to combat the recent upsurge in fly tipping in the WORK and Orwell area.

REPLY:

The area has been patrolled regularly by the local Litter Warden who has reported that some bags of rubbish, mainly consisting of beer cans or bags of grass from clean-ups, have recently been listed for removal by the Cleansing Section at several points including at Osprey Road, Kennington Road and in the Watercourse at Orwell.  No evidence was found to support any enforcement action and there was no other instances of flytipping in the area.  However, the Warden will continue to monitor the area while on patrol.
