MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

Cathaoirleach's Business

"That this Committee agrees that we are informed when all advertisements for e.g. water disruption; development etc etc are advertised in public media."

REPORT:

The Council places an amount of statutory and non statutory public notices, advertisements and press releases into the public demain on a regular basis.   Details of the collective notices are stored electronically on the councils website, intranet and membernet for ease of retrieval and reference.   

Notwithstanding this it has been customary to pre notify Electoral Area Members by email of all impending notices pertaining to their resepctive areas and any recent departure from this arrangement is regretted.

The policy will be reinforced to ensure that members are fully aware of initiatives and proposals pertaining to their areas prior to their publication in the media.
