MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave
"That the Manager when reviewing the Pay- Parking in January 2011 at Owendoher Crescent survey the residents as there are a majority opposed to Pay-Parking there."
REPORT:
In the planned review of the implementation of the Control of Parking Bye Laws all submissions from members of the public affected by the introduction and/or modification of these measures will be included in a report for consideration by the members. Following the intense interest in the introduction of pay and display parking in Owendore Crescent, views have been expressed both against and for the introduction, and residents have already been advised to submit a survey of residents which clearly demonstrates the views being expressed.
This submission will form part of the overall review, however as the final implementation has been delayed by a few weeks, it is intended to afford all areas a reasonable familiarising period prior to completing the review so as to ensure that there is no further confusion caused. It appeared from initial contacts that residents wished to retain the signage indicating that the location was a pay and display area while removing all other aspects of the Bye Laws. Clearly such an outcome is not possible. The report on the review process will be submitted to the Members as soon as possible.
