MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

"That this Committee agrees that the commitment of this council to provide a footpath and a hard stand for the bus stop  at Stocking Lane will be honoured in 2011 and to state in the report what efforts are being made to ensure funding will be made available in 2011 for this project."

REPORT:

An application has been made to the NTA for funding for the Stocking Lane footpath / cycletrack upgrade  for 2011. The Roads Department  intend to invite tenders for this Scheme in the NewYear. These tenders in turn must be submitted to the NTA for scrutiny, and subject to their approval and funding, (bearing in mind the current situation), works to the Scheme could commence in Q2/Q3 2011. Unfortunately it is not possible to give a more precise commitment or time-line at this moment, having regard to all the circumstances.
