QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to outline what proposals there are for bus shelters (including their locations) on the new QBC on Firhouse Road and Ballycullen Road?"

REPLY:

As part of the Part 8 process on the Ballycullen/Firhouse QBC scheme, the bus stops and shelters were to be replaced at existing locations or as close as possible thereto.

The Council have undertaken all neceassary civil works to effect this as part of the Contract for the scheme. The provision, erection and financing of the shelters is a matter for Bus Atha Cliath. Upon enquiry they have informed us that there is not sufficient funding in place to provide shelters at all bus stops.
