COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 16
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Manager to write to the National Roads Authority to request a meeting with the elected members of this Committee and relevant managers and engineers from the Road's Department to discuss the future possible reopening of the Tandy's Lane - N4 link road as provided for in SLO 19 of the new County Development Plan. It is noted that this road link was successfully and safely reopened to facilitate the recent Lucan Festival. It is also noted that in their submission on the amendments to the draft Development Plan the NRA indicated that they “remain available to discuss the situation with the Council” (submission ref. 0023).
REPLY:
It should be noted that this junction was closed on safety grounds and was only opened to facilitate the Lucan festival at the request of the Lucan Gardaí who were responsible for safety at the junction. The NRA will be contacted to arrange such a meeting.
