QUESTION NO. 2

QUESTION: Councillor R. Dowds

That the Manager outlines those estates in the Clondalkin Electoral Area which will benefit from the Bulbs not Bonfires initiatives and how it will be put into effect.

REPLY:

To date, a total of 29 Resident Associations/Groups have submitted applications for  a spring bulb planting programme under the Bulbs not Bonfires Initiative.   While there was no qualifying estate from within the Clondalkin Electoral Area, expressions of interest have been received from the following estates:

Sruleen, Lindisfarne,  Alpine Heights and St. Patrick's Residents' Association.

The Bulbs not Bonfires Initiative is in its inaugural year - it is hoped to build on the programme for Halloween 20l2 and to target all Resident Associations/Groups who have expressed interest in the initiative in the current year.

Staff from the Council's Parks Department will undertake the bulb planting within the next week at locations identified.
