MOTION NO. 3

MOTION: Councillor S. Crowe

That this Council Committee calls on the Manager to give an updated report in relation to the ongoing problems on the wastelands between Kilmartin Estate and the Ring Road and the discussions held in relation to proposals and  if any decisions have been made to resolve the difficulties highlighted previously in this area.

REPORT:

The County Architect has prepared a comprehensive plan for the treatment of the strips of land between Kilmartin Estate and the Outer Ring Road. Part of these works was included in the schedule of works which might be undertaken as part of the Public Realm Projects, which are to be financed from a special allocation which was included in the 2010 Budget.

It is not yet known what projects will be proceeded with under that programme but the final list will be agreed in consultation with the elected members of the Council over the coming weeks.
