MOTION: Councillor R. Dowds

That the Manager ensures that the pedestrian entrance to Corkagh Park at Park View Lawns, Clondalkin is locked at park closing time.

REPORT:

At present the gate into Corkagh Park at Park View Lawns is left open at all times to facilitate local residents travelling to work/school early in the morning i.e. before official park opening time, which is 10.00 a.m. From now on, arrangements will be made to have the gate locked each evening at official park closing time which varies throughout the year but is currently 4.30 p.m. The gate will be re-opened by staff each morning at 8.15 a.m during the week and at 10.00am at the weekends. It is hoped that this will meet the needs of local residents while at the same time help to discourage anti-social activity in the area.
