QUESTION: Councillor C. Jones

To ask the Manager if there is any update with regard to bringing land into public ownership to accommodate an extension of Esker Cemetery? 

REPLY:

The Environment Department is conscious of the need to provide adequately for future cemetery requirements throughout the County. Given the sensitive nature of any enquiries/discussions around the acquisition of land it is not possible to be more specific in this regard, however the availability of land suitable for such provision is kept under constant review and any opportunity to acquire lands that meet those requirements at reasonable costs is availed of.
