COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, November 23, 2010
MOTION NO. 24
MOTION: Councillor C. Jones
That this Committee expresses its continuing disappointment at the manner in which SDCC bins are returned in the Lucan area by the waste management staff following them being presented for collection.
REPORT:
Refuse Collection Staff are required to return bins to a path or where the kerb meets the road and in general at the house or gate where the bins were presented for collection. Supervisory Staff monitor this on an ongoing basis and remind crews of this requirement when required. If specific locations or addresses where grey bins are causing an inconvenience are notified to the Refuse Collection Supervisors these areas are monitored thereafter. A number of instances have been taken up with staff where such details have been supplied and these, in particular have been monitored as will any further specific complaints received.
Council management is committed to delivering a quality refuse service and is keen that any specific incidents should be notified to the Council for investigation and follow up.
