QUESTION: Councillor Marie Corr

"To ask the Manager to review layout of the roundabout at Citywest Road adjacent to Citywest Shopping Centre with a view to assessing safety and adequacy of lane spacing for vehicles driving onto roundabout or left turning?"

REPLY:

This roundabout was modified with the addition of a second lane on each approach as part of the Citywest Shopping Centre planning application. Following its modification road markings were provided to insure that left turning and ahead / right turning traffic were sufficiently separated as they approached the yield line. The Garda have never brought this location to the Council’s attention as a collision problem.

However the matter can be further examined at the next Traffic Management Meeting.
