QUESTION NO. 12

QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to examine the derelict cottages on Whitechurch Road opposite the entrance to Willbrook Lawn with a view to outlining what the derelict status of the buildings is, their ownership, and whether it is in the power of the Council to have their facades rendered in a more atrractive finish?"

REPLY:

The Council’s Area Engineer has been instructed to carry out an inspection on this property and issue a report stating whether he considers the site to be derelict, within the definition contained in the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  If the site is found to be derelict, the owner will be issued with a Section 11 Notice outlining the works which must be carried out in order to render the property non-derelict.
