QUESTION NO. 24
QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
To ask the Manager if there has been any progress in identifying potential suitable work through which the Council could participate in the FAS Work Placement Programme, and if the matter has been explored with the Trades Unions and if he will make a statement on the matter?
REPLY:
Further to a second meeting with local FAS officials, the Council has proceeded to specify and register 7 work placement opportunities with FAS. These are in the areas of Finance/Accountancy, IT, Archaelogy, Green Energy Management, CCTV Monitoring and Reporting and Sports. It is expected that these posts will be advertised on the FAS website in coming days and that interested persons will submit their CV to the Council who will arrange for interview and offering of placment opportunity. The Trades Unions are aware of this programme and are supportive of it.
