MOTION NO. 9
MOTION: Councillor S. Crowe
This Council Committee calls on the Manager to give a report in relation to the small Park in Firhouse and how this Council plans to enhance the area, and encourage its use by many of the of young mothers and elderly residents living in the immediate area.
REPORT:
The Council has worked with the local interested groups - including the local FáS scheme - in Firhouse to maintain and enhance Firhouse Village Park. It has also assisted as far as possible the local FáS schemes. The park is presented and maintained to a high standard. Nevertheless, in order to maintain and if possible to improve on this standard meetings have been held recently with interested residents as well as the local priest and the representative from the FáS scheme. As a result of these meetings a schedule of works has been agreed that can be implemented by the Council over the coming months. The Council is thankful to the local interested groups that have taken the time to become involved in this work.
