QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to give an indication of the timeline likely in the handing over of the laneway adjacent to Swiftbrook Estate to the school authorities locally - given the anxiety caused to residents in the immediate vicinity due to ongoing anti-social behaviour at this location and also to give an indication of a likely completion date of intended works such as boundary treatment etc?"

REPLY:

There are a number of issues relating to the condition of the laneway in question and potential solutions to the problems arising from the existence  of the laneway have been worked out by the Housing, Parks and Development Departments of the Council.

The treatment of this laneway is included in the list of works from which projects will be selected for execution under the Public Realm Programme.

It is not yet known what projects will be proceeded with under that programme but the final list will be agreed in consultation with the elected members of the Council over the coming weeks.

  In the meantime it is premature to state what works will be undertaken and when at the Swiftbrook laneway.
