QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh 2009

"To ask the Manager to tackle immediately the poor state of the road and pathways of Airton Road in Tallaght?"  

REPLY:

A resurfacing contract was carried out in 2008 on the Airton Road Carriageway. A section on the western end was omitted pending works to be carried out by ESB and the SDCC Drainage section. The ESB works are now complete including the necessary reinstatements. Roads Department will liaise with the Drainage Section in relation to their proposed scheme and associated reinstatements.

The footpaths have been inspected and are in reasonably sound condition with no major trip hazards evident. Road maintenance staff will continue to carry out any emergency repairs as required.
