"That this Committee discuss the Rathfarnham QBC adjacent to Beaufort Downs estate i.e the removal of the wall from front of Beaufort Downs estate. Residents are totally oppossed to this proposal. That this Committee recommends that an alternative be agreed e.g. a left lane priority filter from traffic lights at Nutgrove Ave/Grange Rd i.e. adjacent to car park -  The current proposal & destruction of so many trees is not warranted for the construction of less than 90mtrs. of bus lane and minimal (if any?) saving in time for bus journey." 

REPORT:

The Rathfarnham Quality Bus Corridor Enhancement Scheme is at present on public display under the provisions of the Planning and Development Acts 2000 / 2006 and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 / 2007. The scheme as proposed is an enhancement of the existing bus corridor from Grange Road to the city centre and is being undertaken in conjunction with the Quality Bus Network Project Office. The closing date for the receipt of submissions or observations is Friday 1st October 2010. When all the submissions have been examined, a Report on the outcome of the consultation process will be prepared, having regard to the nature of the submissions.  This Report will be submiited to a future meeting of this Area Committee for consideration.
