“That in Section 2.5.9 Renewable Energy the word “primarily” be deleted from the last line of the 3rd paragraph, so that it reads “lands zoned for development.”

Manager’s Response
At the Meeting on 6th May 2010 (Motion 79) it was agreed to accept the Manager’s recommendation to revise the motion to substitute the phrase “residential development on lands zoned primarily for development” in place of “residential development on existing residential zoned lands”. The revised wording was considered to be appropriate as it allows for the potential to locate such a project on suitable lands not zoned solely for residential development, such as lands zoned CT, TC, or DC, or lands zoned EP1-3, which are encompassed by the phrase “lands zoned primarily for development”. This provides a reasonable degree of flexibility to enable the Council to facilitate such projects in appropriate locations.
Manager’s Recommendation
That the word ‘primarily’ be retained in Proposed Amendment PA100.
