QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

To ask the Manager for a detailed account of the actual annual cost to the Council in respect of the provision and maintenance of Allotments by location and the total income generated for the Council through the rent of the Allotments?

REPLY:

South Dublin County Council provides four allotment facilities in our administrative area.  They are located at Corkagh Park, Clondalkin, Mill Lane, Palmerstown, Tymon Park, Tallaght and Friarstown, Bohernabreena and consist of 255 plots in total.

In 2010 the estimated expenditure for allotments will be in excess of €28,000, comprising of the following|:

It should be noted that this expenditure does not provide for any extensions to any of the allotment schemes.  The income for 2010 for allotmens is €11,099.
