QUESTION NO. 3
QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe
"To ask the Manager can he give a report outlining how many tenants in three bed accomodation are trying to transfer and downsize to smaller and more managable properties in this Committee area and the approximate timescale for waiting tenants?"
REPLY:
The current number tenants seeking transfers to downsize from three bed accommodation in the Tallaght Areas are as follows:
3 bed to 2 bed | 68 |
3 bed to 1 bed | 29 |
As regard timescale, the Council's Scheme of Letting Priorities 2006 allows for priority status to be granted to certain tenants applying for a transfer to alternative accommodation, included is the category of those downsizing. The Council facilitates this category of transfer in so far as possible. The availability of suitable accommodation and having regard to those on the Council's Housing List determines the quantity of such transfers.
