HERITAGE PLAN

REPORT:

The draft County Heritage Plan was on public display for the month of April 2010.  12 submissions were received, all of which were positive in their comments regarding the production and content of the document. 

Following the close of the public consultation period, the County Heritage Forum convened on 5^th May 2010 and discussed the public contributions and the finalisation of the draft document for presentation to Council.

As a result, a small number of minor suggestions and additional points of information have been incorporated where appropriate.  These include minor typological corrections, an expansion of the text describing the cultural literary and artistic heritage of the County, and the inclusion of an additional action to support the Dublin Mountains partnership in promoting best practice in the maintenance of the Dublin mountain and woodland recreational areas.

On agreement and adoption of the draft document by Council, it is planned to launch the County Heritage Plan during Heritage Week (August 21^st – 29^th 2010). It is now before the members to formally approve the County Heritage Plan
