Report on National Bike Week
National Bike Week is now in its second year and again it is proposed that South Dublin County Council will take part in the week. A series of events has been planned for the week.
Internationally, the week begins on the 14th June each year and is one of the ambitious targets set in the National Cycle Policy Framework. Nationally, details of all events, including the events in South Dublin are available on www.bikeweek.ie .
A comprehensive programme is planned for the week with the highlight being the Official Opening of the Grand Canal Cycle Route by the Mayor on Friday, 18th June 2010. The attached programme gives full details of events, all of which will be advertised locally and will be accessible via the Council's website. The members of the Strategic Policy Committee are invited to support as many of the events as possible during National Bike Week.
