REPLY:

PROPOSED WORK PROGRAMME

The following matters were submitted by Members of the SPC following the discussion at the last meeting of the Committee. The items have been grouped by topic as follows:

DUBLIN BUS: Attending today’s meeting of committee:

Need for review of bus routes incl. introduction of orbital north-south bus services linking Lucan-Clondalkin-Tallaght and linking built-up residential areas to rail/luas hubs; - Cllr. W. Lavelle

Review of effectiveness of 24-hour bus lanes - Cllr. W. Lavelle

Feeder services to LUAS lines from Rathfarnham(a)Dubliin Bus cuts service –  the 161 was a lifeline to many people in Tibradden, Rockbrook, Edmonstown, Kilmashogue, Mount Venus and Cruagh, especially elderly people and non drivers - Cllr. C. Keane

IRISH RAIL / RPA: It is proposed to invite these organisations to the next meeting of the Committee:

Irish Rail – need to reopen the Phoenix Park rail tunnel so as to allow commuter trains from the Kildare line serving Hazelhatch, Adamstown, Lucan and Clondalkin to travel directly to the docklands and/or to the city centre, noting that the proposed new Interconnector rail tunnel is not due to open until 2018 at the earliest and to introduce commuter trains commencing in either Hazelhatch or Adamstown given that nearly all current morning peak-hour commuter trains are full before they reach our county; - Cllr. W. Lavelle

Public transportation – & lack of any rail transport in the Rathfarnham Electoral area - Cllr. C. Keane

Can an update be brought to SPC re proposed Metro West, in respect of proposed changes to line at Clonburris School, Dunawley Estate, St.Patricks Estate and Oakwood Estate and Fonthill Rd.
