QUESTION NO. 16
QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon
"To ask the Manager to indicate when it is likely that the applicant, *details supplied, will be allocated an allotment at Friarstown, and can he also outline the position generally?"
REPLY:
The applicant is currently number 107 on the Friarstown Allotment waiting list. All the plots in the Friarstown Allotments Facility have been allocated for the 2010 season. As plots become available throughout the year they are offered to the people next in line on the waiting list. There are currently 297 on the waiting list for the Friarstown Allotments.
The Council has examined the potential to extend the current Allotment Scheme throughout the County, and it has been agreed to extend the allotment facility at Friarstown, Bohernahreena. This extension of Friarstown is currently being examined in conjunction with the need to identify a new water source to service the existing and proposed allotments. It is expected that this will be completed in the near future
