6. Beautiful South Dublin County - (update report)

Beautiful South Dublin Competition report update
A Role Description for Volunteer Centre Judges for Beautiful South Dublin 2010 and an application form were developed and sent to the Volunteer centre who distributed the opportunity to over 2700 of its members. From this one application was received which was not appropriate for the role.
Following on from this the role description and an expression of interest was disseminated via the Community Forum and the South Dublin County Council Allotment Associations. From this one application was received which was consequently withdrawn due to new commitments on behalf of the applicant.
As it was impossible to secure volunteer judges for the Competition it is now necessary for the Council to secure judges using its own Partnership Network.
Application forms were sent out to the following week of 3rd of May

Ø Libraries
Ø Stewarts Hospital
Ø Whitechurch Library
Ø Clondalkin Library
Ø Castletymon Library
Ø Mobile Libraries
Ø Lucan Library
Ø Ballyroan Library
Ø County Library
Applications were also distributed around County Hall, toEstate management, Community Workers, Litter Wardens, Clondalkin Civic Offices, the SPC members, all Councillors, put up on the SDCC Website, on Dublinwaste.ie and emailed to Rapid newsletters and the Dodder valley partnership.
The deadline for submission is the 11th June.
Depending on the level of entry judging is likely to take place on a full-time basis over a three week period from mid-June to end of July.
The Prizegiving will be in the form of a Press Conference and will be held in County Hall in an evening in September – the exact date will be announced.
