QUESTION NO. 17
QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe
"To ask the Manager how many houses in the Rossfield area have requested window replacing and how many can be complied within the present programme?"
REPLY:
The Council allocated €1 million in funding for replacement of windows and doors from the 2009 budget. This funding is being used solely to replace the most needy windows and doors for applicants who are on a list in housing maintenance going back to 2005. Prior to work commencing the windows/doors are being examined and graded from 1(best) to 5 (worst). Only those with a grade 5 are being replaced at present. There are 595 applicants in total in the county. The grading is ongoing at present and work is being undertaken on those identified as grade 5 in parallel. Prior to work starting tenants must have a clear rent account or be adhering to an arrangement to clear any arrears.
In the Rossfield Estate, 13 tenants have applied and 7 have been graded to date. 3 of these have been graded 5 but one is in arrears and two are recent applicants. The remaining 6 tenant windows and doors will be graded in the coming weeks
