QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh 2009

"To ask the Manager to take immediate action to ensure that *details supplied is refurbished and returned to the Housing Stock for allocation and in reporting will he also explain why considerable damage has been done to this  house since it was vacated and make a statement?"

REPLY:

This property was allocated in July 2009 and surrendered in September 2009.  The house was boarded up at time of surrender but has been broken into several times resulting in serious damage.  The latest break-in occurred in March 2010 whereby all the taps were left running causing severe flooding and water damage and the boiler was also stolen. 

The Council’s Allocations Section is currently endeavouring to source a tenant for this property and as soon as a tenant is sourced work will commence.  This work should take approximately 2/3 weeks.
