QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh 2009

"To ask the Manager, in light of the number of Bank Holiday Mondays that occur in the year, would the Council consider increasing the number of bin collections to compensate for this inconvenience (in the Whitehall Road area in particular)?"

REPLY:

As part of the intended restructuring of the Council's waste collection service, a significant route optimisation project will be undertaken which will incorporate an examination of presentation rates as well as rescheduling collection days for customers.  It is anticipated that this project will commence later this month.
